This series of miniature paintings was inspired by the repetition of visiting the same beaches over and over, each time a new light, new foliage, new temperatures. The same place becomes a comfort and a ritual, yet somehow it is always different. Looking through my documentation over the last few years, I began to notice how it had become like a sweetie pick'n'mix, each swim a new flavour, experience and delight.
